My prints are never just prints but a means to an end. They are on their way to becoming a collage or at the minimum have their surfaces distorted. The Gibraltar Carnival series combines monoprints with drawings to tell the stories of a decadent night we spent on The Rock. I think of the recent teapot collages as sculptural piles of rock, monumental and balanced on plinths. A small version of the teapot collage is part of a portfolio which is included in several major museum and private collections.
Print-making is a scale and medium that I explore occasionally but always in combination with collage. They may evolve from my paintings as with the rock formations on Dartmoor leading to monolithic shapes of piled pots or tell of an experience as with The Gibraltar Carnival series.
