Rumors have it that there is a mystical pink octopus that has the ability to extend its tentacles to all three lakes no matter which lake it happens to play in. Sun rises from the west, casting a golden shine on the largest lake, but jade green on the smaller two. Behind the farthes mountain there is a teapot of a pagoda in the color of cast iron black. Long tail seven color birds fly out of the pagoda and return at night. There is almost no vegetation except a big willow tree in the southeast corner of the square kingdom. Immediately ahead of me stood a tall conical structure of hide, the open door facing me. Strange horse-like animals were drawn on the outside. It seemed to be uninhabited at the moment and it was elevated on a large rectangular slab of brilliant sky blue. Just to the north of this structure were wide leafed plants, and just behind them to the West was a mound with sharp, spiked grasses. They seemed to be trimmed abruptly to a short height. Moving beyond this area farther west, the ground was flat and dry. Lying on the ground were curving red-orange grasses which were very flat and appeared to be dead. There were also oval, black pods lying among the dead grass pieces. Another mass of different tall grasses was in the middle of the Western border of the Sanctuary. It rose suddenly from the flat earth and the grasses were tubular and also cut off to an even height. Moving to the South-West corner of the land was a second mound of shooting tubular grass. Turning South, a bird almost as large as the conical structure surprised me as it sat perched in a hoop. It resembled a toucan and was shiny black and muted gold. In front of the bird, to the East were more of the broad leafed plants like the ones near the teepee. In the center of the Sanctuary there were two spiked plants whose leaves rose in clusters of three or five. The South corner of the Sanctuary was fairly barren except that two birds almost as large as the one in the hoop flew overhead. Walking to the East border of the area, a massive base of a tree rose up. It seemed to split in two above me and I couldn’t see the top. Its bark was cracked and ancient looking. I see many dogs buried there in tomb but still playing in this beautiful aroma. Towards left, a huge statue of “The King of the Dogs” stands. Walking towards South. Still flat land, but lots of orange colored beans along the South side of the border. The leader, like a huge, elegant rock, is followed by his two mates, a yearling, and a new calf. High on the left rises a mountain, snow capped and radiant in the sunlight. The elephants leave behind them a flat parched desert, extending South and East toward the sea. Two large lonely cacti punctuate this barren space. Finally the brown desert gives way to a fine white sandy beach along the southeast border. A temple, small, elegant and in perfect symmetry, is alone on the sand. To the West, runs a high plateau. One lone tree punctuates the horizon, its old gnarled branches extending both outward and upward. It is an arresting sight, with several ghostly large white birds perched on the branches. The land is rugged and the valleys weave and interconnect between them, with rivers flowing down from the hills. These connect into a large, slow moving river that heads NW as far as the eye can see. Eventually it disappears around a set of hills that jut out from the west. To the east of the river in the distance are steep, shear-faced cliffs that hide the territory beyond. In the midst of the wide river are a series of small islands. On one of these sits an exotic, multi-colored palace or temple. The domed roof glints in the sunlight. Moving away from the SW border, up out of the river system, to the NE direction, the valley and hills rise up to a plateau that gives way to an open plain. The southern end of the plain is drier, some scattered vegetation but mainly rocky. To the southeast corner of the plain, the land slopes down gradually merging with a vast lake from which the river originates – as far as I can discern – this being some way in the distance from where I stand. At the southwest corner of the plain, as it rolls away, it drops below the hills to the west. At the foot of the hills are two craters, perfectly formed circles. The beds of the craters are smooth red stone quite unlike the surroundings. (This leads me to believe they had extra-terrestrial origins. As one heads north or northwest across the expanse of the plain the land becomes more fertile and lush, and rises slowly. There are trees and woodlands. There is a lake, too, populated with many exotic, large fish with fins and spiny backs. They swim gracefully, comfortable of the surroundings and unafraid to show themselves. Further to the north there is a break in the woodlands. A structure rises here that is dominated by a golden tower. Its significance is not clear but it is clearly an important edifice and decorated with ornate inscriptions in a foreign language reminiscent of the pharaohs and the pyramids of Egypt. Diego Arango I enter the land through the southeast. My eye catches sight of a female’s torso full of curves and voluminous features just like the mountains behind her. In front of her there are three man-made lakes in which one can see her dissected reflection. Northeast of here, there is a sexually provocative figure on a rock. The figure is standing with his legs splayed and arms stretched out in a position of sexual abandon. His clothes accentuate rather than conceal. His sexual manner is grotesque and his attitude full of agony rather than pleasure. I went down and down and down, gradually the road got narrower and narrower, though finally I descended very steep into the gully. My eye wonders across the horizon and the scenery is great - lots of rolling hills, occasional cows and no big structures. I come near a river that spands several thousand miles, beginning in the southwest, then flowing all the way to the north. There the road ends at a dock, definitely no bridge, a couple of row boats sit in the mud along the shore and I consider walking across but I cannot see a road on the other side. I didn’t think it existed. The terrain rolled a lot, the land was farmed for coffee and a few other crops. I saw a few men out collecting the beans carrying grain baskets. Northwest I saw a white horse-drawn wagon with an old man driving and an old woman riding in the back. Behind them there was a rock and on it a black bird with shiny feathers. It sat there on the center of the rock waiting. But standing at the edge of the dense bamboo forest, the massive rock plateau and the rounded man-made architecture it supports block any view of the sky to the north-west. Of course, when the temple was originally built, - (interrupted by a swooping bird, orange in color and unlike any I have seen, squawking loudly and diving past my head into the trees behind me, to the south) - the rock floor only barely exceeded the surface of the water surrounding it on all sides. (This was before the water receded to the southern river.) Slightly to the west, there is an odd dwelling made from wood and what looks like shaped coral (strange combination). The interior is composed in a spiral shape. During low tide, those making pilgrimage to the temple take shelter there before completing the final leg of their journey. During low tide, however, legend states that the water from the river forms a channel, by which rebellious teen-age mer-creatures can reach the inner core of the spiral dwelling (which always retains a significant amount of water at high tide). Some say it is used as a kind of “love nest”, and most stay away during these times, as mer-creatures - known for their explosive tempers - are particularly volatile when in love. (There are tales of a few unfortunate pilgrims who made the mistake of entering the core during high tide and felt the brunt of a mermaid temper.) Directly to my north is the spectacular structure called either “the great reflector” or “child of the sun and moon”. It is a large circular form (50 feet) in diameter of an unknown reflective material - the light is so bright no one has been able to get close enough to discover what it is - that reflects the light of the sun and moon onto the temple. The effect is such that the temple structure seems to change in form constantly throughout the day and night. At the base of this “child” sit three elderly blind women wearing long embroidered green robes, and spinning brightly colored silk garments. As worshipers climb the mountain towards the temple, they must first brave the overwhelming heat at the foot of the reflector and kneel before the three wise women. If they are worthy, they will be cloaked in the silk garments, and only then may they continue upwards towards the temple. The temple itself is truly beyond my description as, like I have said, its shape sems mutable and unfixed against the intense and always-changing light. I was standing on the edge of a huge wooden bridge facing Northwest. It was built into the ground. I didn’t have to worry if it shakes or not. I could see on my right a safety god statue looking over the bridge. It had a face of the Sun and Moon. There is a big dry river running underneath. Before exploring the bottom of the river, I decided to cross the bridge. It’s about 100 feet wide and 500 feet long. In the middle of it, I encounter five strange yellow objects. They were like gates standing individually. I went through every gate. Uchyu-jin (aliens) must have put them here millions of years ago. Towards the end of the bridge , there was an 80 foot high monument standing. It looks like a chimney out of the bridge. Huge, really huge ivy like plants were growing around it and a golden-color bird was flying. I asked the golden bird to take me on its back and fly over the river. Gigantic rocks were lying over the river. It’s very dry. I was so thirsty. I saw a reflection at the deepest bottom of the river. Getting near it, I see a horse drinking water. I didn’t know how the horse could get down into this rocky bottom. We joined him drinking water out of this small lake. It was very cold and delicious. Something red caught my eye when I looked at the bridge. There must be something under the bridge. I asked the bird again to take me to there. We flew over the bridge once and went under the bridge. The red was a giant crab living there. We were almost caught by its claws, but we escaped. We went back on the bridge safely. The Sun and Moon face god must have protected us.
